Time to vote
The council elections are coming up later this year and nominations are due in June. Now is the time
to think seriously about bringing some greater accountability and more direct democracy to the
Taupō District Council and to bring equal rights to all ratepayers.
Council administrative staff numbers continue to grow as do our rates at well above inflation.
Ratepayers are becoming increasingly squeezed and many councillors seem oblivious to this and
unable to see the difference between nice to have and essential works.
If you have a common sense approach to such matters then please consider nominating someone or
standing yourself for council.
