Acacia Bay set to grow
The 112ha site in Acacia Bay’s Loch Views has potential for about 480 new sections.
A large block of land in Acacia Bay suitable for residential development is on the market.
The 112ha site at 100 Loch Views Rd is in an area recently rezoned to New Residential Environment. It has potential for 480 sections.
Bayleys corporate projects and development land sales director Gerald Rundle says the site’s rezoning has unlocked the development potential, to allow a mix of residential densities.
New developments in the area will need to align with planned investment in public infrastructure, with demand for housing in the area expected to grow significantly in years to come.
The site has sweeping views of Lake Taupō, and back over the Taupō township.
Rundle says the freehold site is in one title and used for cattle grazing.
“It allows a new owner to generate holding income while finalising development plans.”
The site has three potential access points and exisiting services to the boundary including roads.
There is potential for 480 residential sections of varying sizes, recreation reserves, a water treatment plant and drainage reserves.
Bayleys Hawke’s Bay commercial director Kerry Geange says recent years have seen a surge in demand from permanent residents seeking a balance between work and lifestyle.
“The area’s strong tourism and hospitality sectors, along with improved connectivity to major centres and industrial activity, have contributed to its evolution into a year-round destination, with Taupō District Council forecasts indicating a potential population increase of 60% by 2060.”
“Significant investment into local infrastructure has stimulated local economic activity, fortifying growth in the commercial and industrial sectors.
“Council population forecasts and local market sentiment now indicate a shortage of residential supply to meet current and future demand, providing a strong incentive for experienced developers to turn their attention to Taupō.
“Given its Central North Island location, easily within reach of major cities like Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington, Taupō is an ideal destination for developers seeking large landholdings with high investment potential.”
“With continued strength of lifestyle property demand and the region’s enduring popularity as both a holiday and permanent living destination, the subject property represents a rare opportunity to secure a large-scale development site with unparalleled positioning and potential.”
Expressions of interest close on April 8 at 4pm unless the block is sold prior.
